BUDGAM:Two notorious drug peddlers arrested with 500 grams of heroin: Budgam Police
In its endeavour to curb the drug menace in the district, Budgam Police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 500 gms of contraband heroin like substance from their possession.
In a statement to news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) Budgam police said “During naka checking at Wathora, a police party of Police Station Chadoora found a person roaming in suspicious condition. During his search Contraband narcotics (Heroin like substance) weighing approximately 300 grams was recovered from his possession. The drug peddler was immediately arrested and subsequently identified as Younis Manzoor@ Sahil S/0 Manzoor Ahmad Waza R/0 Wathoora.
They said during his sustained questioning, upon his revelation, another drug peddler namely Nasir Farooq Sofi S/0 Farooq Ahmad Sofi R/0 Wathoora Chadoora was apprehended from Wathora and from his possession same contraband narcotics (Heroine like substance) weighing approximately 200 grams was recovered.
On this Case FIR No. 106/2021 under relevant sections of NDPS Act Stands registered in Police Station Chadoora and investigation set into motion.
The initial investigation suggests that these drug peddlers were going to sell the heroin among youth of the area. More arrests and recoveries are expected, the statement added.
